INVENTOR OF THE MRI SAYS EVOLUTION IS SCIENCE FICTION

INVENTOR OF THE MRI SAYS EVOLUTION IS SCIENCE FICTION

 MAY 10, 2012 - (David Cloud, Fundamental Baptist Information Service, P.O. Box 610368, Port Huron, MI 48061, 866-295-4143, fbns@wayoflife.org)
The following is excerpted from an interview with Dr. Raymond Damadian that was conducted in January 2012 by Shem Dharampaul of Alberta, Canada. Dr. Dharampaul is a Fellow of the College of Physicians in Canada and is trained in nuclear medicine.

Dr. Damadian, biophysicist, is the recipient of the Lemelson-MIT Achievement Award as “the man who invented the MRI scanner.” In 1988 he was awarded the National Medal of Technology, America’s highest award for applied science, and a year later, he was inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame, an honor he shares with Thomas Edison, Samuel Morse, and the Wright Brothers. The first MRI scanner that Dr. Damadian and his colleagues built in 1977, “The Indomitable,” resides at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
QUESTION: Why do you believe that the Bible is true?

DAMADIAN: If you take the trouble to examine the evidence supporting the Bible and contradicting alternative theories, from my perception, the evidence is overwhelmingly in support of the biblical record and vacates alternative thoughts such as evolution. The evidence for evolution is non-existent. In my opinion, evolution is science fiction.
QUESTION: Does the Bible’s account of creation contradict any known facts of science?

DAMADIAN: No. Absolutely not. In my opinion evolution contradicts them.
QUESTION: What things would you think that evolution contradicts in terms of known facts of science?

DAMADIAN: Just as an example, it contracts the first law of thermodynamics. It contradicts the second law of thermodynamics. And it contradicts a major, fundamental law of physics, which is the law of cause and effect. The effect can never be greater than the cause, but evolution has to start with slime mold and end up with a human being. So that is an outright contradiction of the law of cause and effect. The second law of thermodynamics says that everything is running downhill. All of the processes of nature are degenerating to the point where the ultimate outcome is going to be equilibrium where no actions of any kind occur because you have a universal equilibrium. Evolution says the opposite. Evolution says that by the sheer process of chance things are not running downhill, they are getting progressively more perfected. That is an outright contradiction of the second law of thermodynamics. Evolution ducks the question of where does matter come from. The only way you can start is that you have to make something out of nothing. You have to start with nothing and end up with matter. When you go from nothing to something you are violating every one of the laws of physics that we know about. The first law of thermodynamics, the second law of thermodynamics, and the law of cause and effect.
QUESTION: Why do you not accept evolution, since it is widely held among scientists today?
DAMADIAN: The way I would answer that is because there is no evidence for it. The known scientific evidence contradict it.

QUESTION: Do you know other scientists who reject evolution?
DAMADIAN: Oh, many. In fact, my general impression is that among the scientists in America the rejection of evolution is growing very rapidly. Today there is a massive amount of material that has been written by scientists against evolution. There are many textbooks written by scientists that challenge evolution for its lack of scientific evidence. One of my favorite quotes in this context is that of Sir Fred Hoyle, the British astronomer, who said to the effect that if you can believe that the human body originated from an antique life form such as slime mold entirely by chance, you should have no trouble believing that a hurricane blowing through a junkyard will yield a 747 passenger jet.

QUESTION: What message would you like to convey to young people growing up in church today?
DAMADIAN: I would like for them to understand that there is no scientific evidence for evolution, that evolution is science fiction, and that the real science is what Genesis describes. Genesis is the only characterization of origins that is consistent with all of the scientific evidence that we have.

QUESTION: What would you consider the most important thing in your life to be?
DAMADIAN: The belief and understanding that Jesus is exactly who He said He is, that Jesus is the son of God, and that He died and was crucified, and that He indeed was resurrected. And with that understanding there is nothing else to say, because Jesus says Himself as the Son of God He was there at the beginning and was there at the genesis of Creation.

QUESTION: What do you consider to be the most important book in your life?
DAMADIAN: The most important book is not even debatable; it is the Bible. The source of wisdom and understanding of all of that we experience and all that we know comes from the Bible. And the more that you study it and the more that you read it the more you advance your wisdom and understanding which is fundamental to everything that you do, and your future.

QUESTION: How can you be sure of going to heaven?
DAMADIAN: In John 3:3, Jesus makes this unequivocal. Jesus said, Except that a man be born again he shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. And John 3:16, God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

WAY OF LIFE Inc. LITERATURE SHARING POLICY: Much of our material is available for free, such as the hundreds of articles at the Way of Life web site. Other items we sell to help fund our very expensive literature, video, and foreign church planting ministry. Way of Life’s content falls into two categories: sharable and non-sharable. Things that we encourage you to share include the audio sermons, video presentations, O Timothy magazine, and FBIS articles. You are free to make copies of these at your own expense and share them with friends and family. You are also welcome to use excerpts from the articles. All we ask is that you give proper credit. Things we do not want copied and distributed freely are items like the Fundamental Baptist Digital Library, print edition of our books, PDFs of the books, etc. These items have taken years to produce at enormous expense in time and money, and we need the income from the sale of these to help fund the ministry . We trust that your Christian honesty will preserve the integrity of this policy.

Are you satisfied with what God says?

Last week I preached a message that looked at the Grace that we receive from God in our everyday lives. A dear minister and friend who taught me in the past of the Truth of God's Word always defined Grace as 'the free unmerited love of God'.
Many preachers that I have come across would insert the word 'favour' instead of love however I believe that favour towards us is centred in His love.
The subject that I was looking at was the Apostle Paul who it appears had 'a thorn in the flesh' which was causing him grief.
That's something all of us possibly can relate to in this life.
Paul had spoke to God about this matter three times - 2 Corinthians 12 - and God had answered him in a way that satisfied Paul and allowed his ministry of the Gospel to continue.
2 Corinthians 12:9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
I write on this subject because I see in the faithful 'Church' - the body that the Lord Jesus Christ will return in rapture for - a decline in in listening and applying what God is saying to us.
There appears always to be a search for more than that gift of Salvation that God has given through His Son.
More and more there is a sense that the Christan wants to do it his/her way rather than God's Way. Of course the way that God wants us to live is through His Word and being lead by the Holy Spirit into all truth. - John 16:13.

Yet it seems that even God's Word on many matters is not enough. We see that He states that Salvation is without works of any kind, yet many want to include things like, Baptism, good works, Church sacraments and even church membership as a means to Salvation and a relationship with God..
Surely one prayer for us as believers should be that we pay more attention to what God says rather than what man or others say as regards the Christian walk.
2 Timothy 3:16-17All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

NB It is only when we are 'of God' that the good works kick in.

Paul was satisfied with the Word from God.
That of course begs the question for many of us - are we satisfied with God's preseved Word on the manner of our lives or do we just crave for our own way.
Is our Bible just a book that doesn't relate to you any more?

Consider God's Word on the matter.

Psalm 12:6  The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Psalm 12:7  Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

WHAT’S INSIDE A MONARCH BUTTERFLY EGG?

Came across this article from David Cloud and thought about the magnificance of God in His creation. What concerns me is that many intellectuals will continue vainess and be lost forever from God who loves them. Intellect can be something that hinders. I thank God that we have a Gospel that is simple and clear free from all intellect. Act 16:31  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. This was the call to the Phillipian Gaoler who gladly believed, not through intellect but through faith.
The God that created the Monarch Butterfly knew what He was about. Do you?

WHAT’S INSIDE A MONARCH BUTTERFLY EGG?
(Friday Church News Notes, August 26, 2011, www.wayoflife.org
fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) -

Within this tiny egg, only about an eighth of an inch long, is an entire world of genetic information. It contains the instructions for the construction of the caterpillar with the intelligence it needs to operate all of its organs (eyes, antennae, legs, etc.), to maneuver within its environment, to digest leaves, to avoid predators, to know when and how to molt, to pupate, etc. It contains the instructions for the incredibly complex process of the final molting and formation of the pupa, including the amazing cremaster mechanism. It contains the instructions for the death and dissolution of the caterpillar into a biological soup and the reformation of that soup into a beautiful butterfly. It contains the instructions not only to construct the butterfly in all of its
mind-boggling complexity (e.g., its proboscis, its compound eyes, its intricately shingled wings, its sensory organs, its reproductive organs) but also the instructions to create the butterfly’s brain and the intelligence needed to thrive within its environment, to fly, to land, to avoid predators, to find the right plants and flowers, to drink and digest nectar, to keep its cold-blooded metabolism in balance, to reproduce. It contains the instructions for a bewildering multi-thousand mile migration to a place it has never been and in the absence of any earthly guide. It would seem, in fact, that the genetic code within that tiny monarch butterfly egg contains a map of a large part of the earth. And it contains the information for constructing hundreds of copies of itself. If the butterfly evolved, then evolution is miraculous and has the attributes of Almighty God!

Neglecting God is never a good thing

Song of Solomon 3:1 - 'I sought him but found him not'
How often God can say that of us as we live our lives and many times neglect to go into the quiet place seeking His face. Over the years this writer has neglected that quiet time set aside for communion with Him on a one to one basis many times. On reflection of this of course I see that it is me who has changed and not God. Really that's the crux of the whole matter; we change but God does not. Perhaps as we go about our daily lives we still feel in contact with Him and utter those little prayers that get us through the day. Yes He hears His children yet how much more He desires us to come and closet ourselves away for a time and fully commune with Him. As we see the Psalmist in writing Psalm 46:10 ' Be still, and know that I am God:' saw the value of  stopping the merry-go-round of the journeys in life and consider God. One proverb states 'look for a thing where you dropped it; it is there'. God was always there where I left Him and therefore it brings so much joy to return to that place to find Him there.
One of my favourite Psalms is 139 which includes the verses:
7-10  Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?  (8)  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.  (9)  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;  (10)  Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
Have you lost that personal quiet time with God? He's right there where you left Him.

Life is never a guarantee

Today 15th April 2011 many people have an anniversary of loved ones who have passed into eternity. Many have fond memories of lives that touched others. I have been thinking today of the Hillsborough Tragedy of 1989 where 96 Liverpool supporters died because of what appears to have been a lack of crowd control and the facilities that were provided in an aging football ground. Many enquiries have gone on since this terrible day: in the courts, in homes and in other football stadiums none more so than Anfield itself. One thing that strikes me is that all of the 96 victims left home that day without ever thinking that they would never come back. Men, women, boys and girls who were attending an FA Cup semi-final to cheer on their favourite football team never thinking that their lives would be required of them that day. My sympathy and compassion goes out to all the families affected by these deaths and also the horrendous injuries that many suffered both mentally and physically. One thing is obvious to all of mankind today is that life is fragile and no one knows the time or day when we may gasp our last breath on this earth. Many would blame God for the tragedy of death whatever way it comes yet as we consider the history of man right from Adam we see that it is in us the failure lies. We fall short of God's standard and therefore we must accept what the Bible calls the wages of sin and that is this thing called death. But what is this death? It is the separation that we have from God because of this sin curse thats in our lives. The question has to be asked then why do we want to continue in our sin and not be right with God. Again the Bible has the answer 'there is none that seeketh after God' - Romans 3:11. So it is God who does the seeking out of sinners. God presents His Son for all to accept Him in the hope that no one should be lost. 1 Timothy 2:3-4. The tragedy is that many are walking about today without being right with God and having the assurance of the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour. To the Christian who depends on Christ's sacrifice at Calvary and His ressurection a great assurance exists that one day should Christ come or call in death that we will be with Him in the place the Bible calls heaven. If you are reading this without Christ in your life could I ask you one question? Are you ready for leaving this earth in death? Romans 6:23 declares 'For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord'
Its a simple faith that is available to all. Nothing to be done except the accepting of the gift of God. Don't be caught out. Search His Word the Bible and see if what I have said is true. I pray that you will find Saviour of your soul in the Lord Jesus Christ who said 'I am the way the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me'
