The Bat's special radar design.

As I read this item from www.wayoflife.org I couldn't help thinking of Genesis 1:31 - 'And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day'.
God did not create in half measures as the Bat clearly indicates (among all the rest of creation course).

THE BAT’S SPECIAL RADAR DESIGN (Friday Church News Notes, November 12, 2010, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – The following is from CreationMoments.net, October 13, 2010: “Basically, radar is made up of two parts. The transmitter sends out a powerful beam of radar waves. But the other part of the radar system is a very sensitive receiver that cannot stand the powerful outgoing signal. One of the major technical problems to be overcome in developing modern radar involved sending out this powerful signal without overwhelming the sensitive receiver. What scientists finally developed was a fast switch that turns the sensitive receiver off every time a radar pulse is sent out. Bats, who have their own sonic radar, had this problem solved from the beginning. They have muscles in their ears that are the receivers for the echoes. These muscles close the ears for split seconds when the bats are sending out their high pitched signals. Without this feature, the bat's navigational system would be useless. How could a bat figure out that it needed this ability and then decide to grow the muscles and related tissue to do the job? When one decides to say that creatures, instead of the Creator, have made themselves, one can end up with some very silly conclusions!”

For to me to live is Christ to die is gain - Apostle Paul

While reading about some of the great preachers and commentators of the Word of God we can see some amazing characters who never flinched at the work in front of them. H A Ironside was one such man. In a biography by E. Schuyler English it was revealed that at the age of 72 in 1948 in spite of failing eyesight Ironside gave 569 messages as well as participating in many things to do with God's work on earth. Ironside went to be with the Lord on January 15th 1951.
The Apostle Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit recognised that the only way the believer can live on this earth is for Christ and when that's finished then the only thing left is the surety of being in the presence of God for eternity.
May we as believers live for the Lord Jesus Christ making Him Pre-eminent in our lives and not just prominent.
We thank God for men such as H A Ironside who have left us a legacy to follow in their faithfulness to God.
John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Old dog! New Tricks! Possible?

Hi all
As I was contemplating trying to publish a blog for Braehill Baptist Church I got to thinking that this is way too technical for me. It would mean that I would have to be very accurate in what I was doing as regards spelling and grammer and all the other niceties of publication. So as you can probably already see I am not going to worry about it too much and I hope you don't either.
I was reading a report on a web site yesterday about how many of our young people are being coerced into making false professions of faith in Jesus Christ because its the right thing to do at that time. Many are being drawn into saying 'the little prayer' which they think makes them right with God and then they start to lead that double life with church activities closely associating it with what the world has to offer as well. Many fall by the wayside because they did not have a clue about the sin in their lives that separates them from God in the first place. I have heard the comment from a teenager saying ' I have tried Christainity and it doesn't work.
Herews 6:4-6 speaks of this type of person - 4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,  5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,  6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance;.........
The Bible speaks of those who have only tasted but have not received in full the indwelt Holy Spirit at the time of trusting the Lord Jesus Christ. There are many who would associate themselves with the Christian life yet they have missed the reason why the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross. It was not to deal with the the little problems that they come across in life but it was to deal with the curse of sin that separated them from God. (Romans 3:23). Of course if we look around us today we see not only many of our young people playing church but many of the older age groups as well. It would be great to get back to the day of pentecost to hear the Apostle Peter preach ' Repent and be baptized every one of you'..... Repentance is the key to a secure life in the Lord Jesus Christ believing that He has paid the debt of sin on the Cross that we might be 'sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise' Ephesians 1:13
